shadow government

You can take the man out of the hood but you can't take the hood out of the man. Hopefully I'm using that phrase correctly

Today, I got pissed. I was planning to campaign for club presidency but--this is a first--the President has decided instead to elect the next President and Vice President! As if they forgot the reason they became President was that nobody elected anybody. Anybody could advocate to be one. Now it's all done on closed doors in hushed silence.

Maybe it's because I wanted to run for president, I am disappointed. Beyond disappointed. I can't do anything, can I? There is no official rulebook that says LEADER/S OF THE CLUB MUST BE ELECTED DEMOCRACTICALLY

Maybe I'm just all the more pissed because the administration left behind my tablet and rice cooker. In fact, nothing has changed from the previous administration. The vice president practically has no influence. Zero efficiency with respect to cleanliness. Managed to host JUST one event despite having an entire academic year. And the President goes oH woe IS Me.

They are delusional if they think they deserve a pat in the back.

Okay I'll stop. I don't want to spew malice. Do I think I will get elected? No. The problem is I am not exactly close with the President; hard to when the PRESIDENT literally ignores my messages except when the group project is uncomfortably close to the deadline. It's hard to literally admire somebody who doesn't show an admirable quality.

Obviously, I will happily accept anybody (actually not anybody) leading the next administration because I'm familiar with everybody.

They must not repeat the same mistakes, that's all I want.

Perhaps what makes this all the more disappointing is realizing the club is also not safe from the current political climate... Take a step back at whatever club/organization you're at, ask yo'e "Because that's how it has always been"

IT BEGINS WITH YOU
